Zurich Critical Illness Insurance now available on Shopee and ShopeePay

Malaysians can now purchase Zurich Critical Illness Insurance directly through the Shopee and ShopeePay apps, making critical illness coverage more accessible through digital platforms many consumers already use.

The insurance product is underwritten by Zurich Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad and distributed by MoneeInsure Agency Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (MoneeInsure).

The launch comes as financial preparedness remains a concern for many households. According to the announcement, six in 10 Malaysians have less than RM1,000 in emergency savings, highlighting the need for affordable financial protection against unexpected medical events.

Zurich Critical Illness Insurance is available in Basic and Comprehensive plans, with coverage of up to RM300,000. The plans cover up to 14 critical and early-stage illnesses, including cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, end-stage liver failure, end-stage lung disease, and serious coronary artery disease.

The Comprehensive plan also provides coverage for selected early-stage illnesses, with benefits of up to RM150,000.

Additional benefits include second medical opinion support of up to RM2,000. Comprehensive plan holders also receive monthly income support ranging from RM5,000 to RM8,000 for three months following a covered claim.

To encourage greater adoption, MoneeInsure is offering eligible customers the first month of the Basic plan at no cost through a promotional campaign starting this month.

Both plans are available to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above. Customers can choose between monthly or annual premium payments, with coverage amounts of RM50,000, RM100,000, RM200,000, or RM300,000.

The insurance plans can be purchased through the ShopeePay app by selecting the “Insurance” section under “Health.” Shopee users can also access the product through the Financial Services section on the app’s “Me” page.

The collaboration reflects the growing trend of integrating financial and insurance services into e-commerce platforms, allowing consumers to purchase protection products alongside their everyday digital transactions.
